Achievements

Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary in Edgartown has received an Environmental Science Research Grant from the Vermont Institute of Natural Science and the Student Conservation Association. The grant is intended to support research in conservation, biological and ecological sciences, and to support the growth of environmental science research as a whole.

Quinn L. Cobban of Edgartown has been recognized for academic achievement as a United States National Honor Student Award winner by the U.S. Achievement Academy at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. Quinn is the son of Rhea L. Cobban of Edgartown and Michael S. Cobban of Vineyard Haven.

Alec B. Cobban of Edgartown has been recognized for academic achievement as a United States National Honor Student Award winner by the U.S. Achievement Academy at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. Alec is the son of Rhea L. Cobban of Edgartown and Michael S. Cobban of Vineyard Haven.

Elaine C. Weintraub of West Tisbury was appointed as a Commissioner for the Cape and Islands inaugural Commission on the Status of Women. Ms. Weintraub was appointed for a two-year term on the Governor's Commission, intended to advocate for women's interests and advise the Governor on women's issues.

Ella B. Dunn

Danielle and Sam Dunn of Tisbury announce the birth of their daughter, Ella Byrne Dunn, on May 27 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Ella weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces.

Humberto K. Sampaio

Jane and Humberto McGroarty Sampaio of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of their son, Humberto Kenneth McGroarty Sampaio, on June 1 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Humberto weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces.

Erika D. Cournoyer

Laura Hayden and Danny Cournoyer of Edgartown announce the birth of their daughter, Erika Destiney Cournoyer, on June 1 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Erika weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.
