ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK
Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah)
Job Summary: The clerk will perform routine clerical support for the Finance Department as well as for Contract Health. Will be cross-trained in specified duties of the Accounts Payable Coordinator and Contract Health Supervisor.
Principal Duties: Calculate and compile information necessary to approve bills for payment and perform functions related to accounts payable; apply all regulations, policies, and procedures of the Contract Health Service Program; produce requests for payment of bills and post relevant data to client files in order to properly implement third party billing; verify and correct all coding on payment documents and assure that all available alternate resource payments have been applied toward payment of services; prepare documents and follow-up on purchase orders and vouchers for payments.
Minimum Position Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; must be able to maintain confidentiality; two years’ experience in an office environment; knowledge of QuickBooks; computer skills: Word and Excel; and good telephone and interpersonal skills for clients and vendors.
Preferred Position Qualifications: Associates Degree in Business or Accounting, three years’ experience in an office environment, and non-profit bookkeeping experience.
Salary Range: $23,583–$37,757

Responsible for fact-finding and formulation of recommendations in cases of disputes, grievances and disciplinary actions.

Principal Duties: Administer the Tribe’s property and supply procedures system; monitor in-house inventory movement; maintain knowledge of all organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases; compile information necessary to process orders for procurement of materials and services and calculate cost of orders, approve bills for payment; check all invoices, receipts, purchase orders, and requisitions; maintain database on purchase order files and fixed asset inventories; order and receive all supplies; conduct comparative analysis on pricing and specifications; locate suppliers and gather information about products to be ordered; conduct periodic review and maintain purchase orders, purchasing files, and price lists; and make travel arrangements.
