WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
IMPROVEMENTS
OFF MAIN STREET WATER MAINS
GREENWOOD, TASHMOO, AND
NORTH WILLIAM
Sealed Bids for construction of the Off Main Street Water Mains will be received by the Tisbury Water Works, Town of Tisbury, Massachusetts at the office of the Tisbury Water Works, located at 400 West Spring Street, Tisbury, Massachusetts, until 5:00 PM, Tuesday January 6, 2009 and at that time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received after 5:00 PM, Tuesday January 6, 2009 will be rejected.
The work consists of furnishing and installing approximately 3,300 linear feet of new 8-in cement lined ductile iron water main on Greenwood Avenue, Tashmoo Avenue, and North William Street (BASE BID) and approximately 700 linear feet on Hemlock Lane and Fairfield Avenue (ALTERNATE 1), including new water service connections, fittings, valves, hydrants, abandoning existing water mains and services, connections to the existing water system, all earthwork, dewatering, paving, restoration, utility crossings, miscellaneous work and cleanup, and all other work required by the Drawings and Specifications.
The work of this contract shall be completed within 90 Calendar Days, in accordance with the terms as stated in the Agreement.
A mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk will be held on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Tisbury Water Works, 400 West Spring Street, Tisbury, Massachusetts.
Contract Documents may be examined and/or obtained at the office of CDM, 56 Exchange Terrace, 4th Floor, Providence, RI 02903. 401-751-5360.
Contract Documents are available for examination at The Tisbury Water Works and at Dodge Reports, McGraw Hill Information Systems Co., 34 Crosby Drive, Suite 201, Bedford, MA.
A deposit of $50 in cash or check payable to the Tisbury Water Works will be required for each set of the Contract Documents. A refund of the deposit will be made for Documents returned in good condition within 30 days after the Bids are received.
Bidders requesting Contract Documents by mail shall include an additional non refundable check payable to Camp Dresser & McKee in the amount of $15 per set to cover costs of handling and mailing, regardless of delivery method.
Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid.
Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of thirty days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays after the actual date of the opening of the Bids.
The Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Construction Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Owner.

Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Labor and Industries under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H inclusive, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract
The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest.
