Camp Jabberwocky exists to provide a residential vacation camp for people with disabilities. We provide recreation and enrich the lives of our campers by creating a supportive environment that promotes the fulfillment of human potential and fosters independence and self-determination while respecting diversity.
As a summer camp for over 50 years, we seek to enlarge the Camp community to involve others not directly involved in the daily operations and to promote the Jabberwocky philosophy of volunteerism wherever possible through our example.
Not surprisingly (after 55 years), the entire Island of Martha's Vineyard helps make Camp what it is -- year-round and summer residents, famous and anonymous, businesses and individuals, all pitch in to create new and different activities each summer. We sail on private boats, fish with local fishermen and anglers, cookout and drum on the beach, attend parties to watch the sun set and concerts at the Tabernacle. We ride horses and jet skis, all with the help and contributions of the Island! We are most grateful to those people who year after year come up with new creative experiences for us to share! You know us and we know you. You make our summers surprising and magical. You are our friends!!
