James Morrice, a graduate of Stockbridge in Amherst, started Morrice Florist in 1940. It was the first full time year round nursery on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Now, in its third generation, Morrice Florist continues to adorn the businesses and homes of Martha’s Vineyard with beautiful flowers year round.
Fresh flowers arrive almost daily during the summer months, imported from Holland, South America, Central America, Canada and locally grown.
Our indoor greenhouse stocks over 40 different varieties of house plants: majestic palms, areca palms, sellum, gardenia topiary, jasmine, african violets, crown of thorns, ivy, pothos, philodendron, china doll, baby tears, prayer plants, cactus, aloe, rubber tree, snake plant, boston fern, dieffenbachia, spathyfillum, marginata, crotons, goldfish, lipstick, hibiscus, ficus, janet craig, swedish ivy, piggy back, wandering jew, spider plant, lucky bamboo and seasonal plants
Outdoor we carry award winning geraniums, vinca, dracena, petunia, impatiens, portulaca, marguerite daisy, allysum, lobelia, lantana, marigolds, verbena, hydrangea, lilac, rose bushes, azalea, rhododendron, blueberry bushes, broom, wisteria, cotoneaster, lavender, spiral juniper, tomatoes, summer squash, peppers, basil, coriander, rosemarie, cilantro.......
