The Lampost has been an Island fixture since before the Pilgrims settled on the Mainland. A little know fact is that the Lampost is the longest running nightclub in the United States (at least that's what we were told when we bought it). The club changed hands in 2004. The current owners were all former employees back in the 1990's who had a vision to make this one of the best clubs in the country. We had our hands full. Please look at the first year pictures page to see how bad the place was. What the building lacked in style and cleanliness it made up for in space and character. The Lampost is an ever changing rollcoaster that we hope you will join us for the ride.
The Club features four floors of entertainment. Starting with the basement or "Dungeon" as many of our patrons call it is the "Dive Bar". This space formerly know as the "Rare Duck" features some of the island's best up and coming artists. Live music is featured Thursday through Staturday. Sunday is not a night to miss. Stick your head in and you will understand why.
The main floor of the bar feature big screen television, trivia, keno, and a pool hall. Live music is also offered on the weekends. Weekly pool and trivia tournaments always pack the house.
The third floor houses the island's largest dance floor (yes I know others make the same claim but in our humble opinion an area with dinning room tables with people eating dinner with their families just doesn't count). Live music is featured on Thursday and Friday nights with local and off island bands. Saturdays are reserved for the DJ's.
Above the dance floor sits the lounge. This is a little more comfortable (air conditioned) generally used by those folks looking to get out of the action, or looking to getting into the action depending on who you are with.
