A visit to The Granary Gallery is always an enjoyable experience.  Owners Chris and Sheila Morse and their friendly staff welcome visitors and are eager to share their knowledge of the Vineyard.  Come in, relax, browse, and discover why year after year The Vineyard Gazette has voted The Granary Gallery “Best Art Gallery on Martha’s Vineyard.”

The Granary Gallery at The Red Barn, with big spaces indoors and on the lawns, is a major destination in the Martha's Vineyard's art scene. The Granary Gallery exhibits an important collection of historic photojournalism.  Alfred Eisenstaedt, Arthur Rickerby, Margret Bourke-White and Aaron Siskind are among the photographers shown.  The Granary Gallery is one of the few places were viewing and purchasing such fine photographs is possible.  Come see the first gallery ever, to have works for sale by noted Life Photographer, Alfred Eisenstaedt.

Standing at the front entrance to the gallery, you can see on the lawn several sculptures and antiques.  The artwork outside the building leads you into the barn where the large exhibition spaces accommodate the works of a diverse range of painters, sculptors and photographers.  Well-known local and national artists exhibit alongside emerging artists in a casual and comfortable atmosphere.  Come see works by Steve Mills, Thomas Hart Benton, Mary Sipp-Green, Alison Shaw and many more just to name a few.  With the works of over 75 artists, there really is something for everyone!

While you are up-island, don’t forget to visit our sister gallery, The Field Gallery, just ¼ mile down the road.  If you find yourself in the heart of Historic Edgartown, you will want to be sure to visit our newest location, North Water Gallery at 27 North Water Street.  Each Gallery offers a diverse collection of works by established and emerging artists.
