Nipped again
To the Editor:
Our home in Oak Bluffs has been "nipped" for the second time in three years. This time, when we returned after Easter, we picked up about 50 empty nip bottles that were placed all over our property. We had a "nip hunt" when we returned. Nips were placed in our birdbath, bird feeder, bushes, flower beds, etc.
Very thoughtful of the Nip Bunny to include us in the holiday Easter hunt.

By the seat of his pants. Nobody wants to see Tisbury's finest suffer fanny fatigue thanks to broken-down chairs. But many at last week's town meeting balked - and rightly so - at the $5,000 figure "to purchase new office chairs for the police station," as stated in Article 4, sub-article a. If police Chief John Cashin had provided some examples, based on research, of what he said furniture goes for, we probably would have moved on without much comment. Just check out Ikea online for a variety of comfy - not to mention colorful - inexpensive options. Saving the town money: priceless.

A banner season
To the Editor:
What a banner season we just completed at the Monday Night Community Suppers, hosted by the United Methodists and the Rotary Club at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. From October through March, old friends as well as many new faces joined us for dinners that featured delicious homemade soups, salads, entrees, and desserts. The introduction of our theme suppers earned positive feedback, and our special holiday meals saw attendance topping 100. The atmosphere was always warm and inviting, thanks to the efforts of a caring group of dedicated volunteers.
I would personally like to extend my thanks to the Rotary Club, the Edgartown Stop & Shop, Island Food Products, Vineyard Cash & Carry, Rev. Jerry Fritz and the congregation of the Federated Church, the Clarion Hotel, and to my church family and friends. Your continued support of this outreach ministry is a true testament to the hospitable nature of Martha's Vineyard. Have a wonderful summer and we'll see you in October.

A fundraiser
To the Editor:
We would like to thank Vineyard Complementary Medicine for its thoughtful way to raise money for non-profits. There is a container at the reception desk for employees to put money in, to wear jeans (casual clothing) to work on Fridays. Clients are also welcome to "stuff the jar." Every three months, the recipient is changed. Rising Tide Therapeutic Equestrian Center was the proud recipient this past quarter. Currently, the Cancer Relay for Life is their charity. Thank you for your creative endeavor and to all the supporters.
