Scarce:

This Boston band's sound is the gothic ghost that arose from the corpse of 90s art grunge. It's sombre punk and fuss with gritty guitar licks and duel vocals that echo Sonic Youth and The Pixies. Friday night at Nectar's at the airport.

Grateful Dread:

Expect a fragrant evening with a heady blend of roots reggae and Grateful Dead covers. This hometown group will spark up the night with infectious dance music and mega chill vibes. Tuesday night at Mediterranean in Oak Bluffs.

Sierra Leone's Refugee All-Stars:

This West African, reggae, and vintage R & B group produces uplifting sounds that burst with life. With rapper Black Nature on the mic, it's deep grooves with untamed aggression. Monday night at Nectar's by the airport.

Chad Burtch:

He traffics in acoustic rock covers delivered with light soul and heartthrob sensitivity. Like high-grade sandpaper, he makes smooth compositions smoother. Sunday night at Atlantic Chop and Fish House in Edgartown.
