Art close to home
David Tierney, who has been exhibiting his paintings at various galleries around Martha's Vineyard, has opened a new gallery in the studio next to his home at 60 Hines Point, in Vineyard Haven, off of Lagoon Pond Road. He made it official by holding an opening reception there on Saturday, Sept. 5. On exhibit are 46 new landscape and abstract paintings of Island topics.
Artist David Tierney provides information to gallery-goer Tami Hersh. Photo by Danielle Zerbonne "There was a good turnout at the reception. There were good responses," Mr. Tierney says.
In describing the variety of his work, he says, "I tend to work in a broad range of styles in the landscapes and in the more detailed paintings. I'm always looking for something new, like a new approach, and it keeps evolving as I continue working."
The studio gallery is open by appointment, but with Mr. Tierney's home next door, he welcomes visitors to drop by and knock on the door when they want to view his paintings. Or call 508-560-5557.
Mr. Tierney is planning a fall show in November.
