During this time of year, it's hard to know what is still open and when. Since the crowds have gone, it is now reasonable to expect open tables in your favorite restaurant, if it's still open. As a result, it's now possible to have breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner in a manageable time in order to get back to work or play.

The Grill begins their Sunday grand buffet brunch this Sunday, which will run through the winter. Chef Tony Saccoccia prepares the raw bar, pastries, hot soup, fresh fruit, a carving station, eggs benedict, baked codfish, scrambled eggs with herbs, crème brûlée French toast, and much more. Brunch is from 11 am to 1:30 pm. $19.95 for adults; $9.95 for children under 12.
Lunch break
Counter service is the quickest way to get served for lunch. Open every day are Edgartown Pizza, The Fresh Pasta Shop, Krista's Gourmet Café, The Black Dog Café and also The Black Dog Bakery, Humphreys, Beetlebung, Rocco's, Net Result, Woodland Variety and Grill, Mocha Mott's (both Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs) Waterside Market, Espresso Love, buffet-style Tropical, Fella's, and Garcia's.
Late lunch
If you'd like to sit down and enjoy your break, the following are open seven days a week for a sit-down lunch until at least 5 pm, so those who want a late lunch are in luck: The Plane View (the one exception, which now closes at 3 pm), The Wharf, David Ryan's, Atlantic Fish and Chop House, Season's, Linda Jean's, The Black Dog, Zephrus, Slice of Life, The Lookout, Sharky's (both Edgartown and Oak Bluffs), Offshore Ale Co., Ocean View, and Linda Jean's.
Zapotec and State Road Restaurant are open every day for lunch except Monday and Tuesday.
Though technically open from lunch through dinner, Offshore offers only the bar menu between 3 and 5 pm.
Dinner
In the off-season, many restaurants close for a couple nights a week, leaving the Island without many choices on Sundays and Mondays. Those still open seven nights a week for dinner only are Il Tesoro, Danny Quinn's and Le Grenier.
Among those open for both lunch and dinner everyday are Slice of Life, Sharky's, The Newes from America, The Wharf, David Ryan's, Linda Jean's, Season's, Beetlebung, Ocean View, and Zephrus. Currently, Beetlebung offers a buy one, get one pizza for $.95.
The Grill is closed Mondays, and offers a new lighter fare menu as well as prix fixe, Alchemy is closed Wednesday; Lambert's Cove Inn, and Saltwater, serves Thursday through Sunday; Nicky's Italian Cafe is open Tuesday through Saturday; Mediterranean, and Détente are open Wednesday through Sunday; Lure is open Thursday through Saturday; and Atria is open Thursday through Sunday, bringing back their Sunday two-for-one burger night, and introducing two-for-one Lobster Night on Thursdays.
Late night
Still hungry at midnight? Tomorrow night, Friday, Oct. 23, is the last night for Backdoor Donuts from Martha's Vineyard Gourmet Café and Bakery in Oak Bluffs. And Sharky's always serves its entire menu until last call - 12:30 am.
Closing time
Most seasonal restaurants have already closed, but The Lookout in Oak Bluffs celebrates its last night on Sunday, November 1.
