Achievements

Constance Alexander of the Tisbury School was recently awarded the Outstanding Science Teacher Award for Dukes County from the Massachusetts Association of Science Teachers. Ms. Alexander, a seventh- and eighth-grade science teacher, has been teaching at the Tisbury School for more than 10 years.
Samantha Potter, age 12 of Oak Bluffs, recently played in the United States Tennis Association's Rhode Island Finals for girls 14 and under. Samantha lost to the number one seed 7-5, 6-3.

Nathaniel R. Karlinsky
Sarah and Seth Karlinsky of Chilmark announce the birth of their son, Nathaniel Richard Karlinsky, on November 18 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Nathaniel weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and joins brothers Andrew and Matthew.
Crystal N. Ray
Pricila and Casey Ray of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of their daughter, Crystal Nichole Ray, on November 19 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Crystal weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces.
Jake F. Ponte
Erica and Kenny Ponte of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of their son, Jake Fischer Ponte, on November 20 at Falmouth Hospital. Jake weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and joins siblings Hunter and Shelby. His grandparents are Suzie Bunker of Chilmark, John Bunker of Oak Bluffs, and Janice Duart of Oak Bluffs. Great-grandparents are Ozzie and Rena Fischer of Chilmark.
Lillian R. Claussen
Rebecca and Erik Claussen of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of their daughter, Lillian Rebecca Claussen, on November 20 at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. Lillian weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces.

Mary Pietrocarlo and Nicolas Korba
Mary Pietrocarlo and Nicolas Korba of Newton were recently engaged. Mary is the daughter of Lou and Diane Pietrocarlo of Glenville, N.Y. Nicolas is the son of John Korba of Andover, and Jill Waxweiler of Oak Bluffs. A September 2010 wedding is planned.
