Good Taste : Dining adieu to the decade

Since the Tisbury Business Association's Last Night First Day is canceled, many Island restaurants are offering New Year's Eve celebrations, from five course meals to hours of dancing.

Have a bon nuit at Le Grenier in Vineyard Haven and ring in the New Year with a prix fixe dinner. Menu items include escargots, duck, lobster, and venison. The set price is $85. For reservations, call 508-693-4906.
Down the street at Zephrus, enjoy New Year's Eve prix fixe special. If you make a reservation by December 29, dinner is $48. After the 29th, dinner is $68. Call 508-693-3416 for reservations.

In Edgartown, Henry's Hotel Bar at the Harbor View Hotel invites all to a quiet, intimate New Year celebrations, with locally inspired dinner specials and party favors. Call 508-627-3761 for more information.

The Wharf hosts its annual New Year's party with 80s cover band Money Shot, with a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Across the street, Mike Benjamin will perform at Atlantic Fish and Chop House, starting at 9 pm.
Up-Island, State Road Restaurant celebrates its first New Year's Eve with a prix fixe dinner for $95. Call 508-693-8582 for more information.
In Oak Bluffs, dine, dance, and party at Mediterranean. Enjoy live music and a prix fixe dinner menu during two seatings: 6 pm ($95) and 8 pm ($120). If you come after dinner, enjoy music by Island Allstars and DJ Di, and a champagne toast. Admission for after-dinner festivities only is $20.
Seasons in Oak Bluffs rings in the New Year with dinner specials, and beginning at 9 pm, karaoke with Vamp, party favors, and a champagne toast. There's no cover charge.
Oyster Bar Grill celebrates with a five-course menu, a Masquerade Ball, and later on a pizza and breakfast buffet. Masks will be provided.
