Have you always wanted to be that super shopper who gets the most fabulous products at the most amazing prices? Now is your chance to succeed, with the winter blues bringing astronomical sales -discounts of 50 percent or more - to the Island.
Vineyard Haven is our winter hot bed of activity. Beach House has more items on sale than not. Select items include popular hand-printed linens to CLM clothing, holiday rugs, and grape-patterned Italian pottery.
They even have Island made wares at 50 percent off, like Jynell Design bags, clutches and dog collars along with Lisa Brown's Photo pillows.
Bramhall & Dunn is offering 40 to 50 percent off on select clothing, sheets, and pottery.
Jaba's is in the mix along with Alley Cat whose 50 percent discount covers the entire store.
Trader Fred, also in Edgartown, has a winter clothing sale of buy one, get one at half off.
Timeless Treasures, an elegant store offering home wares, clothing, and shoes has a 20 to 75 percent off sale (excluding new arrivals). You can have that fabulous black dress and matching boots for a fraction of their original price. At these prices, why not add in a set of Mariposa glasses and dishes, at 20 percent off, to finish your romantic setting on Valentines Day.
Laughing Bear, a woman's fantasy clothing store in Oak Bluffs, currently has a storewide sale offering up to 60 percent off storewide.
Just across the street at B*tru, you will also find a storewide sale from 50 to 60 percent off. It makes this a great time to find that fabulous dress you need for an upcoming cruise or visit to a warmer climate.
In Edgartown, Claire Murray is hosting their annual renovation sale to help prepare for spring - 50 percent off storewide including their fantastic gift baskets, PJ's and hooked carpets.
Chilmark Pottery, in West Tisbury, is a must-see stop for their end-of-the-decade sale that corresponds to a 50-percent savings on all pottery. Who doesn't need a new berry bowl, creamer, butter dish or mixing bowl?
While not able to match the 50 percent discount, many Island stores are offering other discounts: Brickman's in Vineyard Haven and Basics in Oak Bluffs are both currently running shoe sales; Tyler & Tallulah, Off Main, and Rainy Day in Vineyard Haven, all have sale signs in their windows; Claudia's in Edgartown has numerous 20-percent discounts including all three lines of brand-name watches - Swiss Army, Seiko and Pulsar. You can also save $90 or more on their very popular Hidalgo 18 carat colored enamel rings.
Next door, Vintage Jewelry also has a sale sign up, but make sure to go on a Saturday, as it is the only day they are open. Oak Bluffs has inviting sale signs at L'elegance and Good Dog Goods.
