Hospital employees honored for excellence

Martha's Vineyard Hospital honored four employees and one department for dedication and hard work, in a ceremony on February 9. Each employee received the Partners in Excellence award.

Photos by Betsy CorsigliaPartners HealthCare, the Boston-based healthcare system, established the program in 1966, to recognize individuals and teams at all levels that contribute to Partners' success in any of its member institutions, which include Mass General Hospital and Martha's Vineyard Hospital.
Individual awards were presented to Mary Alley, practice manager, for leadership and innovation; Margaret Ditson, scheduler and certified nurse assistant, for operational efficiency; Rich Huffam, outpatient nurse manager, for quality treatment and service; and Tom McQuade, Windemere certified nurse assistant, for quality treatment and service.
An award for quality treatment and service was presented to the hospital and Windemere Rehabilitation and Wellness departments.
An award for operational efficiency was presented to David Caron, for participating in the Partner's Center for Drug Policy.
Friends, well-wishers, and hospital employees attended the ceremony in the hospital vestibule. Tim Walsh, hospital chief executive, said the awards are based on nominations from fellow employees. He said the awards recognize that individuals make a difference in the institution's delivery of service and care.
