Chef Kevin Alexander of Edgartown, formerly of Simsbury, Conn., is the new chef at Seasons in Oak Bluffs. He moved to the Island four years ago with his wife, Andrea, and now has two sons. Starting as a dishwasher at a Connecticut restaurant, Mr. Alexander is now a familiar face in various Island restaurant kitchens: The Lookout, The Newes, the Harbor View, and Fishbones.
What's one of your favorite things to cook?
What I really enjoy making is soup. I love making homemade soup.
Any particular soup?
No, to be honest, it goes like 'okay, what should we make today? Cream? Or a base broth?'"
What ingredients could you not live without?
Onions and garlic.
What's one food that you won't eat?
I'm not a dessert fan. I don't have a sweet tooth.
Where do you go out to eat on a day or night off?
I'm pretty homebound. I have two sons and my wife works. But when I get a chance, Lattanzi's.
What's one of your favorite things about the Island?
The community, and the beach.
Your favorite beach?
South Beach, left fork, we drive right on. The kids love it.
Seasons is open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 am to 4 pm, and dinner Mondays through Saturdays from 4 to 10 pm, and Sundays from 4 to 9 pm.
