Brunch on Easter Sunday has become a popular way to celebrate the holiday, and several Island restaurants offer the works this weekend.
At The Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown, there's something for everyone. For the foodie, find organic chicken breast with Swiss chard, sweet onions, and natural jus; leg of lamb with rosemary jus; crepes with nutella and berry compote, boursin and smoked ham, or brie, walnut, and granny smith apple; and much more. The kids can enjoy a visit with the Easter Bunny, who will lead the egg hunt on the hotel's great lawn and porch. Brunch is $48; $24 for children 12 and under; free for children 3 and under. Reservations are recommended: call 508-627-3761.
State Road Restaurant in West Tisbury will serve brunch on Easter Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm. The menu includes lemon ricotta pancakes, lobster cakes, beef brisket hash, and sweet potato pancakes. Bring your own vodka for a homemade Green Mary (made with green tomatoes and cucumbers), a Darling Mary (Wine Country soda and champagne), or a classic Bloody Mary.
In West Tisbury, Lambert's Cove Inn and Restaurant serves Easter Brunch from 11 am to 3 pm. And starting April 16, the restaurant will be open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. For more information, call 508-693-2298 or visit lambertscoveinn.com.
Dine on leg of lamb, Virginia ham, baked codfish, salads, and raw bar, and homemade desserts at The Grill on Main in Edgartown on Sunday, from 11:30 to 6 pm. The buffet is $36; $15 for children under 12. To make a reservation, call 508-627-8344.
And Mediterranean in Oak Bluffs serves Easter Brunch from 10:30 am to 2 pm.
No joke
Tonight, Offshore Ale Co. celebrates April Fool's Day with a "And Now for Something Completely Different" party. "We thought it would be fun to take this day and do something completely out of the norm for us," Phil McAndrews, co-owner, said in an email. They'll have Chinese food specials, Budweiser longneck bottles, and discothèque lighting and DJ playing disco favorites.
