Obituary : Helen M. Mosher
Helen (Medeiros) Mosher, wife of Gary S. Mosher, died on November 26 after a long illness. A native of Martha's Vineyard, she was born February 22, 1929 to Raul B. Medeiros Sr. and Barbara (Allen) Medeiros. She was a graduate of Tisbury High School in 1947. She married Gary Mosher, son of Philip C. and Vivian S. Mosher in 1955. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on October 8, 2008.
Helen is survived by her husband, Gary, daughter Martha Child and son-in-law John W. Child. She leaves three step-grandchildren: Lori Ann Messina, Amy Ruth Goodwin and Thomas F. Child and four step great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Barbara Ray and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Raul Medeiros, and sisters, Eleanor Hunt and Joanne Smith.
A graveside service was held on Monday, Dec. 1, in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Tisbury at 11 am officiated by the Rev. Roger Spinney. Memorial donations in Mrs. Mosher's memory may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 257, P.O. Box 257, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.
