Ronald "Ron" Ames, Martha's Vineyard

Ron was a master stonemason on Martha's Vineyard for three decades, a talented artist, architect, builder, wood carver, and musician and will be remembered especially for his exceptional banjo playing. Quick with a joke, a smile or a laugh, Ron's sense of humor, dedication to his work, and love of life will be fondly remembered by those who had the honor of knowing him.

Ron served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a Freemason and an active member of Falmouth's Marine Lodge and was a proud descendent of five of the original voyagers of the Mayflower.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, located at 475 Main Street in Falmouth Center. A service in the funeral home will begin at 1 pm. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod Inc, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601. For on-line guest book and directions, visit ccgfuneralhome.com
