Obituary : Regina Brenner

Regina Brenner of Crest Avenue in Winthrop died unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on March 21. She was 50 years old. Born in Oak Bluffs, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jean (Chapman) and Louis Trebby. She was raised on Martha's Vineyard, later moving to Winthrop where she has resided for the last 23 years.

For the past 10 years she was employed with WGBH as a Unit Manager. Very active in community affairs, she was a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club, Winthrop High School PTO, and the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Society. She was most active with St. John's Episcopal Church in Winthrop, where she was a member of the Altar Guild, the Liturgical Committee, the choir, the ECW (Episcopal Church Women), as well as a past member of the Vestry. Regina also served as a Sub-Deacon of the Parish.

She was the beloved wife of 21 years to Lawrence "Larry" Brenner and the loving mother of Samuel Brenner of Winthrop. She was the sister of Bettina Trebby-Preston of Hillsborough, N.H., Maria Trebby of Nantucket, Carla Metell of Melrose, John Trebby of Nantucket, Robert Trebby of Charlestown, Julia Fernandez of Gilbert, Ariz., and Thomas Trebby of Vineyard Haven.

The funeral will be conducted from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son Funeral Home located at 147 Winthrop Street in Winthrop today, Thursday March 26, at 9 am, followed by funeral services in the St. John Episcopal Church, located at the corner of Bowdoin and Buchanan Streets in Winthrop at 10 am. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Committal will be private.
