Obituary : Kevin E. Hammond

Kevin Earle Hammond, 54, of Oak Bluffs, formerly of West Bridgewater and Bridgewater, died June 29 at Harborside Healthcare in Falmouth. He was the son of Kenneth Earle Hammond, who predeceased him and Lillian J. (Perkins) Hammond.

He graduated from Bridgewater/Raynham High School, and went to work for his father at Gateway Gulf Station in West Bridgewater. He also worked for A&M Auto Repair in Vineyard Haven, Old Colony Service Corp in Edgartown, Vineyard Auto Service in Vineyard Haven, and A&P and Stop & Shop in Edgartown.
Besides his mother of Oak Bluffs, he is survived by three brothers and two sisters; Thomas of California, Stephen and Walter, both of Oak Bluffs, Gail Hammond of West Bridgewater, and Karen Anacki of Bridgewater; nieces Lynne Mazzoli, Mary Mazzoli, Paula Mazzoli, Danielle Anacki, Jennifer Anacki; nephews Peter Mazzoli, Brian Hammond, Joshua Hammond, Kenneth Hammond, and Branden Hammond; and one great nephew, Murdock Bettencourt.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 9, from 5 to 6:30 pm followed by a funeral home service at 6:30 pm in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, located on Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road in Oak Bluffs.
