Obituary : Agnes M. Green
Agnes Margaret (Murphy) Green, a resident of Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oak Bluffs and formerly of Maynard, died on Sunday, July 19, after a period of declining health. She was 91.

Agnes was born in Cambridge on March 23, 1918, the daughter of Michael Murphy and Ellen (Quirk) Murphy, two Irish immigrants. She was graduated from the Cambridge High and Latin School and was a secretary for Carter, Inc. before her married life.
Agnes was the wife of Charles F. Green, Jr., who predeceased her in 1996. They married in 1945, sharing 51 years of marriage.
Together they started their family of three children and moved to Concord during the early 1950s and later lived in Maynard at the Summer Hill Glen for 10 years until the death of Charles, when she moved to Martha's Vineyard to be closer to her daughter.
Agnes worked after her family had grown at Richardson's Drug Store and the Concord Medical Center both in Concord as a pharmaceutical tech.
Agnes enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, traveling, and participating in most of the activities at Windemere. She was a communicant of St. Bridget's Church in Maynard.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Charles F. Green, Jr., and her three siblings, Frank Murphy, John Murphy, and Helen Bryant.
She is survived by her three children, Patricia E. Olsen and husband William of Maynard, Charles Green III and his wife Jackie Starer of Ashland, and Helen Green of West Tisbury; also by her grandchildren, Krys Olsen and Pete Olsen and his wife Dawn all of Maynard, Jen Olsen of Groton, Olivia Green-Lingren of West Tisbury, and Dan Baker of Ashland; and by her great-granddaughters, Emily Olsen and Elizabeth Olsen; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Route 117 in Maynard on Monday, July 27, at 2 pm. Donations may be made in her memory to Windemere Nursing and Rehab Center, P.O.
