Obituary : Barbara A. Barry
Barbara Ann Barry died Sunday, Jan. 3, at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 80 years old.

Born June 29, 1929 to Clarence F. Barry and Alma Bickford Barry. She lived on the West Tisbury Road for most of her teen years. The family then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., where she lived for many years. She came back to the Vineyard in 1998 and lived with her niece until she moved to Windemere, where she had many good friends and a wonderful staff to take care of her. One special nurse in particular is Melissa Pelletier, her great-niece, whom she loved very much.
She enjoyed making jewelry with beads, and placemats for friends and family in their favorite colors. She loved going to the Flying Horses and the beach, shopping trips off-Island, lunch at the airport, going to the senior center, and especially loved the days the kids or animals would visit. She also had fun playing games with her friends. She loved the staff at the center, who went out of their ways to do special little things for her, like make her favorite macaroni and cheese. She also loved the Christmas Bazaars and fashion shows.
Known to her friends and family as Bobbie or Auntie Bobbie, she enjoyed and lived life fully.
She is predeceased by two sisters: Virginia Shelton, and Geraldine Silvia; and one brother: Donald Barry. She leaves many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Dyer-Lake Funeral Home in North Attleboro. She will be laid to rest in the New Westside Cemetery in Edgartown. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
