Obituary : Daniel E. Prowten
Daniel Emerson Prowten of West Tisbury died in a house fire at his Christiantown Road home on Saturday morning. He was 63 and had lived in West Tisbury since 1971. He was born in Medford in 1946, the eldest son of William and Lois Edmands Prowten, both deceased.
Dan leaves his daughter, Diana Waring, and former wife, Pat Waring, both of West Tisbury, and his long-time companion Sandra Dold of Merrimack, N.H. He is also survived by his brothers, Tim of San Jose, Calif.; Bruce of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Bill of Franklin, Tenn., and formerly of Oak Bluffs; David and Eric, both of Concord; Steve of Quincy; two nieces, and three nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of Dan's life will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, at 1 pm, at the Agricultural Hall, located on Panhandle Road in West Tisbury.
Friends are invited to bring a dish to share, musical instruments, and favorite memories.
