Obituary : George Wesley Ranslow

George Wesley Ranslow, 78, of Oak Bluffs and formerly of Rockville, Conn., and Uxbridge, died on March 4.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty (Butler) Ranslow. He is also survived by his daughter, Heidi (Ranslow) Brown of Colchester, Conn., and his son Peter Ranslow and his wife Brenda of Wethersfield, Conn. He leaves grandchildren Mandy Ranslow, Jesse Ranslow and his fiancée, Sonja Foster, and Julie Brown. He was predeceased by his father, George Washington Ranslow, and leaves his mother, Bertha (Bassett) Ranslow, his sister, Eleanor (Ranslow) Doble, and her husband, Richard, all of Keene, N.H.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He spent his retirement years on Martha's Vineyard Island managing the Information Booth for the Town of Oak Bluffs.
