MVRHS girls’ varsity shines over Somerset
The Martha's Vineyard girls' varsity basketball team ran away from Somerset at the Sancy Pachico gym, Monday, 61-38.
Jillian Sedlier (12) and Jennie Lindland (10) were the only Vineyarders in double figures. Both Kendall Robinson and Crystal Miske contributed 9, Maggie Riseboro, 8 and Kat DeBettencourt 6. Molly Fisher added 5 and Sarah Williston had 2.
It doesn't show in the game stats, but Jennie Lindland put on a one-woman all-court press that sometimes confused the Lady Warriors and led to a bushel of turnovers.
The Somerset Jayvees defeated the Island JV, 46-27. At the half, the Lady Warriors led 20-10.
