BUSINESS BRIEFS
May 5, 2005

Law office opens in West Tisbury

Attorney Margot N. Parrot has opened a law office for the general practice of law at 44 Catboat Lane (off Skiffs Lane) in West Tisbury.

Ms. Parrot lives with her husband, artist Robert Osborne, daughter and granddaughters in West Tisbury. She attended law school later in life, after careers in business and in journalism.

Ms. Parrot is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and of the Western New England College School of Law. She was recently admitted to Western New England College’s advanced law degree program in estate planning and elder law, one of three such programs in the country.

For information or to schedule an appointment, call 508-696-5450 or go to www.parrotlaw.com.

Real estate office reopens in West Tisbury

Carol Dodd Brush will reopen the office of Muskeget Associates, a real estate brokerage company, in West Tisbury.

Ms. Brush has lived on the Island for 35 years and served on several town boards. She is available to represent both buyers and sellers. For more information, call 508-693-3489 or 508-274-5724, or e-mail carolbrush@vineyard.net.

Needlepoint shop opens in Edgartown

Henley’s Needlepoint & Fibers, a “new shop with old friends,” has opened at 44 Main Street in Edgartown, behind Edgartown Books. The shop offers hand-painted canvases, assorted fibers, a stitching service, and a finishing service.

Spring hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday, 10 am to 2 pm.

Call 508-627-3959 to sign up for a beginners’ needlepoint class or to get the “Sit and Stitch” schedule.

Insurance agency changes name

The Gervais Insurance Agency on State Road in Vineyard Haven is now the Tashmoo Insurance Agency. The business has a new name, but continues to be owned by Joe and Carole Gervais. Mr. Gervais said that with the Tashmoo overlook on State Road just a short walk from the office, it seemed like the natural name. The office will continue to provide a full range of services, including in-office license plate service.

For more information, call 508-693-4000.
