Girls’ lacrosse

The varsity girls lacrosse team took on a aggressive Dartmouth team, Tuesday. Dartmouth scored twice before Isabelle Lew put the Vineyard on the board. Darrtmouth finished the first period with a flurry of seven goals, and led at the half 9-2.

The Vineyard held Dartmouth to two goals in the second half, and Jane Alexander scored for the Vineyard. Final score: 11-3. Undefeated Dartmouth, is first in the Maritime League. The Vineyard is second.

Katie Keppeler and Katie Campbell were key assist players, moving the ball downfield and finding teammate Meryl Pye, who scored. Bourne came up with a goal, but it was quickly answered by Isabelle Lew. With 4 minutes left in the game, the Vineyard tried to hold the ball, but Bourne managed to score twice. The Vineyard had a well deserved and much needed win 8-6. Senior goalkeeper, Brie Sylvia played tough in both halves with 12 saves.
