Edgartown National Bank provides expanded access to financial investment
Edgartown National Bank executive vice president and chief executive
officer Fielding Moore announced the launch of Edgartown Financial,
offering access to investment services to Island residents.
The announcement coincided with the appointment of Jonathan Snyder
as investment manager and vice president of the bank.
According to a press release, Mr. Snyder will provide investment advisory
services as an investment executive of Infinex Investments, Inc.,
Mr. Snyder brings 18 years of investment management experience, primarily
with investment advisory firms in Boston and Philadelphia. He and
his family have spent summers on the Vineyard for over 30 years. He
recently moved here permanently to launch Edgartown Financial.
M.V. Coop Bank to sponsor Vineyard Vibes
The Marthas Vineyard Co-operative Bank will be a major sponsor
of Vineyard Vibes 2005, the festival presented by Berklee College
of Music to showcase the talents of its alumni, faculty, and students
this August 4 through 7. This years lineup brings together artists
from the music worlds of jazz, Latin jazz, gospel, and rock.
Our goal is to provide our community with opportunities to experience
world-class music at affordable ticket prices, said bank president
Richard Leonard. We are thrilled to be able to continue to support
the extraordinary musical talents associated with Berklee College
of Music, and in so doing, enrich the lives of Vineyarders.
This year, a portion of the proceeds from Vineyard Vibes is funding
a music enrichment program in Island schools. Several high school
music students are visiting Berklee and will form an ensemble directed
by jazz great Phil Wilson, a Berklee faculty member. The student group
officially opens Vineyard Vibes 2005 on August 4, performing under

Rockland Trust has Island foothold
Rockland Trust announced that Karen Bisson of West Tisbury has joined
the company as a residential loan officer. According to a press release,
her job is to assist Vineyard residents find the right financing solution
for all their residential mortgage needs.
Rockland Trust is the largest independent bank in Massachusetts with
over 55 branches in the state.

Local organizations receive charitable donations
The Marthas Vineyard Co-operative Bank Charitable Fund, in conjunction
with the Permanent Endowment Fund for Marthas Vineyard, announced
14 recent donations, made to a wide variety of local organizations
and programs. The individual donations range from $500 to $2,500 for
a total of $12,500.
The grant recipients are the Dukes County Health Council Youth
Task Force, the Friends of Up-Island Council of Aging, Habitat for
Humanity, Hospice of MV, Look/Dolby/Rebello Scholarship Fund, MV Hebrew
Center, MV Hospital Building Fund, MV Preservation Union
Chapel restoration, MV Rod & Gun Club Camp Jabberwocky Fishing,
MV Shellfish Group, MV Rod & Gun Club Kids Trout Derby, Sail MV
MVRHS Sail Team, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and The Yard.
According to a press release, the Marthas Vineyard Co-operative
Bank has a long history of donating to local Island programs. Richard
J. Leonard, bank president, said the banks philosophy of giving
back to the community is part of what makes their bank successful.
The Vineyard is very fortunate to have a local bank that is
comprised of such a generous board and staff, said Deborah
Hale, Permanent Endowment Fund chairperson. Our goal, as it
appears in our mission statement, is to strengthen the quality
of Vineyard life forever. These donations from the Marthas
Vineyard Co-operative Bank Charitable Fund help us do just that. We
