Video Highlights from the 1953 MV-Nantucket GameThe first MV-Nantucket game was played in 1953 on Nantucket. Although MV led at halftime, Nantucket scored the last three touchdowns late in the game to win 33-20. This original film footage was shot by Ken Hearn, whose son Glenn was the quarterback. If you don't have Quicktime, it is available here for free. In order of appearance: John McBride (#22) is off to the races on a 65-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. Leigh Carroll (#30) plows into the end-zone for the second Vineyard touchdown. John Morris (#14) leads a host of shadowy figures after collecting Glenn Hearn's pass and runs 85 yards to put MV ahead. Glenn Hearn (#20) rolls right and finds John Downs (#17) for the conversion and a 20-13 MV lead at halftime.
