Boola Boo
Andy Shay, head lacrosse coach at Yale University, will run a lacrosse camp at the high school from Monday to Thursday, Aug. 6-9, 5:50 to 7:30 pm. Cost: $155.
Winter won't quit
The Frost Biters and Winter Guys raced a triangular course in Vineyard Haven harbor a week ago beginning at Nun 6 in the harbor to Nun 4 at West Chop to Can 23 off East Chop and back to Nun 6.
On Thursday, May 31, the winner in corrected time was Dan Culkin in the Vineyard Vixen, Magic Time. Phil Hale in Alerion was second.
On Sunday, June 3, Tom and Laura Welch in Eastaway nosed out Dan Culkin to claim first place. Eleven boats competed.

Multi-talenteds
Emma Lee Iverson finished 14th in the 30 school, MSTCA two-day, girls heptathlon track and field meet at Hingham last week earning 3,285 points in the seven-event competition, which includes the 100-meter dash, high hurdles, 200-meter dash, 800-meter run, high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin throw. She did best in the hurdles and dash and leaped a personal best of 16' 4 ¾ in the long jump.
In the boys Decathlon, Ry Yennie was ninth overalll with 5,233 points.
Swim, bike, run
The Vineyard's dedicated triathlete, 40-year-old Todd Christy of Chilmark, placed 59 th of 766 racers in the annual Hyannis Sprint Triathlon, Sunday, completing the ¼-mile swim, 10-mile bike ride, 3.5-mile run in 1:01:01.
Sue Miller, 44, of Vineyard Haven was 660th overall.
Winner George Bent of Centerville finished in 50:44.
Table tennis tourney
Quinapong, the Island's only tennis table club, will hold its annual season-ending tournament this evening, Thursday, June 14, at the West Tisbury school, beginning at 6 pm.
The tourney marks the end of the table tennis season, which will begin again with games at the Aquinnah town hall and the West Tisbury school in September.
The three-year-old club, spawned by Aquinnah residents Spa Thorpe and John Walsh, has purchased new, top-grade tables and paddles and invites players young and old, novices and old hands, to join in the fun.
Soccer sapience
The VFA (Vineyard Football Assn.) Summer Adult Soccer League is now registering players at Sports Haven, 5 Beach Road, Vineyard Haven. The six-team league will play games Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at Veterans Memorial Park at 5:30 and 6:45 pm. The first 80 experienced players to register constitute the league. Tennis at the blinker
Kent Leonard defeated Patrick McCarthy to win the A Division Balle de Match Grand Prix segment at Vineyard Youth Tennis. Both players, along with Stuart Hersh and Win Grimm, have qualified for the Masters to be held June 23. Grant Meachem won the B Division and will be playing Julia Cooper in the Masters on the same date. Each division Masters champion will receive a full outfit from Balle de Match clothing company.

Twins win,
then finally lose
The undefeated Twins survived spirited play by the Indians, led by Kevin and James Cleary, to keep their record unblemished, 8-4. The Tribe's loudest blow was a Cyrus Breeze triple. The Twins used three pitchers in the win: Jason Millen, Tucker McNeely, and Andrew Fournier.
Saturday the Twins topped the Marlins 6-1, powered by Jack Slayton's 3-run homer.
The Twins finally tasted defeat, bowing to the Marlins, Monday, 6-4. Mike Ducatt Luce pitched 5 1/3 innings and collected three hits, including a triple, to lead the Marlins.
JVs wrap up season
The MVRHS junior varsity softball team finished its winning season on a high note, defeating Bourne on the road last week, 14-7.
Emma Frizzell was credited with her first win of the year. Gail Herman and Emily Alosso chipped in with extra base hits, a triple and a double. Caroline Davey and Emily Hines executed a timely double play.
The Jayvees finished with a 13-6-1 record.
The team banquet with Coach Donald Herman is this evening at 6 pm.
Run for the Y
A new road race, the Offshore Ale Summer Solstice 10K, will be run starting at 5:30 pm, Thursday, June 21, beginning at Offshore Ale and run along Seaview Ave. and Beach Road to the big (Jaws) bridge and back. Register the day of the race at Offshore Ale for $20. All proceeds to go to the YMCA,
