Storyteller receives 2007 Creative Living Award

Storyteller Susan Klein of Oak Bluffs is this year's recipient of the Creative Living Award from the Permanent Endowment Fund of Martha's Vineyard for her outstanding community service and achievement.
Ms. Klein, who is also a workshop leader, humorist, and performer, will be honored for her work at a presentation ceremony at the Permanent Endowment Fund's annual meeting on Aug. 9, at 6 pm, at the Grange Hall in West Tisbury.
A light menu and drinks will be available and the public is welcome to attend. Given the recipient's myriad talents, organizers expect it to be a very entertaining evening.
Ms. Klein was born and raised on Martha's Vineyard and is noted for a variety of presentations involving story. Her highly acclaimed storytelling and memoir writing workshops are held annually on Martha's Vineyard and around the nation and in Europe.

She is the recipient of a number of awards including the Publisher's Weekly Listen Up Award and is also highly sought after for teacher training in the Uses of Storytelling in the Curriculum. In 2001, she received a Circle of Excellence Award presented by the National Storytelling Network.
The Creative Living Award is given each year from the Ruth J. Bogan and Ruth Redding Fund, which was established in 1983 by Ruth Redding to honor persons whose lives reflect the luminous and creative spirit that marked Ruth J. Bogan's life.
The fund is overseen by the Permanent Endowment Fund for Martha's Vineyard.
