School League finals

In the final playoff games of the MV Youth Soccer's school league, the Edgartown girls remained unbeaten and untied with a 6-1 trouncing of the Oak Bluffs/Tisbury team.

In quarterfinal boys team play, the top-seeded Oak Bluffs Reubens dropped Edgartown seeded sixth. The five seed Up-Island Poole team upset the second-seeded Charter School, and Oak Bluffs Moore (4) edged Up-Island Dwane (3).

In the semis it was O.B. Moore over O.B. Reuben and Up-Island Poole got by the Charter School.

In the finals, for all the marbles, it was O.B. Moore 3, Up-Island Poole 1.

Edgartown uber alles

The Edgartown girls team, with a perfect record, went right on winning, crushing Charter in the semi-final game, 7-1. The other semi-final game finished regulation time in a tie and went to penalty kicks to decide a winner: O.B./Tisbury, 3-2, over Up-Island.

The Shiretown girls wasted no time grabbing a lead and watching it grow to a 6-1 finals win over O.B./Tisbury.

The consolation game went to Charter over Up-Island in a squeaker, 3-2.

Sunday boarders

Twenty-eight skateboarders entered the MV Skatepark Competition, Sunday, and all received prizes finishing in first, second or third places.

In the youngest division, those nine years old or younger, four skaters were given A's for their efforts: Miles Jordi, 7; Ben Clark, 9; Tom Irwin, 9; and Noah Hoyt, 8.

B skaters were Mike O'Brien, 6; Mercer Kelly, 7; and Jade Correll, 7.

Josiah Barbosa, 4, and Miles Albert, 7, received "gentlemen grades."

In the 10 to 15 group, judged best were Wesley Groover, 13; Felix Tucker, 11, and Zion Morris, 13.

Then came Sean Dockery, 14 and Erik McElhinney, 13.

Third place honors went to Jacob Lawrence, 13, Daniel Henderson, 13, and Evan Hall, 14.

Tops in the 15 and older category were Travis Myers, 17; Steve O'Sullivan, 18; and Steve Correll, 24.

In the second tier were: Ben Luckey, 15; Micah Tannhauser, 17; and Matt Benning, 16.

Also skated : Beach White, 17; Eric Fletcher, 15; Richard Medeiros, 20; and John Osmers, 20.
