Carlton J. Condon, 89, died at his home on Martha's Vineyard on Feb 19. He was predeceased by his wife, Mady, in 2004. He was born in Boston, graduated from Springfield College in 1940, and during World War II was a U.S. Navy Lieutenant on the destroyer USS Parker. He was in advertising sales with Gannett Newspapers in White Plains, N.Y. After retiring, Carl and Mady traveled, enjoyed the Vineyard and their many friends. Carl celebrated with his "beloved" Red Sox team when they won the World Series, and always looked forward to playing golf with his friends, the "noonies," at Farm Neck. He is survived by his brother Robert Condon of Denmark, Maine, by his children Fred M. Condon (Carlene) of Martha's Vineyard, Jacqueline C. Johnson (David), of Ridgefield, Conn., and by his grandchildren Scott, Sean, Alexis, Mackenzie, Christopher and Matthew. A private family gathering will be held in the spring. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Martha's Vineyard Hospital, MVH Development Office, Box 1477, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557.
