Chilmark Bank, oil paintings by Ruth Major, fish sculptures by Janet Messineo. Show runs through Oct. 15.
Friday, Oct. 8
West Tisbury Free Public Library, 4 pm, Artist's Reception for JoAnne Scotford Rice. Her full range of styles and media will include ink drawings, paintings, photography. The show, a collection of retrospective work, will run through October.
Saturday, Oct. 9
Island Elderly Housing Artists and Crafts Show, 1 to 3 pm, Community Room of Woodside Village 2. The artists and craftsmen living at Island Elderly Housing, Inc. (IEH) will display paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, needlepoint, books, and other crafts. Candy Shweder's Pottery Barn, 4 to 6 pm, Open Studio and pottery wheel demonstration. Fulling Mill Road, Chilmark. Wine and cheese artist reception. 4th annual demonstration by Ms. Shweder marks the end of her summer season. Middle Road to Fulling Mill Road (follow balloons).
