Kristy Jennings' goal with 32 seconds remaining in the second 15 minute sudden death overtime, lifted  Westport to a 1-0 victory over the Vineyard in the opening round of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association division two south playoffs, Wednesday in Oak Bluffs.

The win was particularly gratifying for the visiting Wildcats who endured two humbling losses at the hands of their Eastern Athletic Conference hosts during the regular season by counts of 6-1 and 5-1.

The Vineyarders had more than their share of possession during the game, but could not break the Wildcats down.

18th seeded Westport advances to meet unbeaten second seeded Canton on Friday, while 15th seeded M.V. ends its season at 7-7-5.
