Vineyard Verses : To East Chop nesters
Taking a well-deserved mid-day break,
are these nest-builders on Crystal Lake.
This pole's been vacant for several years,
so their arrival brought neighbor's cheers.
Their growth has been anything but slow;
they may have hatched locally two years ago.
East Chop satisfies their basic wish...
to live close to a good source of fish.
Eggs will require a patient wait,
since the birds arrived a week or so late.
Ulitimately, this new generation
will increase our osprey population.
