A summer vacation on Martha's Vineyard isn't complete without some form of fun on the water. Whether you prefer sailing, para-sailing, boating, kayaking, or wind surfing, your options are many.

If you'd like to try sailing, lessons and sunfish rentals are available in Vineyard Haven at Wind's Up, where kayaks and wind-surfing equipment can also be rented. The Island Sailing Schools of Martha's Vineyard offer private lessons and classes for all levels of aspiring sailors as does Boat Safe of Martha's Vineyard.
If you'd rather relax and let someone else handle the details, a charter excursion may be right for you. Boats available for charter include everything from the classic wooden yawl on Edgartown Harbor, Magic Carpet, and catamarans - like Mad Max and Arabella - to the schooners When and If and Alabama. Lessons, rentals, and charters are listed online and in local phone books.
