Youth Tennis Top Guns
Reid Yennie defeated Kent Leonard, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 last Wednesday and claimed the Island's Junior Tennis Top Gun title, with a 7-1 record playing against other top juniors on the Vineyard. Kent was second with a 5-3 record.
The Vineyard Youth Tennis team was unbeaten in its matches with other teams including Chilmark, West Chop, Edgartown Yacht Club, and Farm Neck. They were also successful in playing off-Island teams.
As well as Reid and Kent, the top guns and their records are: Justice Yennie 4-4, Samantha Potter 0-6, Patrick Dunk 3-3; Justin Grossman 3-2; Patrick McCarthy 1-3; David Steiner 2-2; Jack Lee 0-2; Darst King 3-2; Jock Cooperrider 3-4.
