Aquinnah veteran officials will square off for selectman’s seat

The Aquinnah election on Wednesday, May 11 will feature one contest — a battle between two well-known residents with long records of public service.

Incumbent selectman Camille Rose, who is seeking a third term, faces a challenge from Beverly Wright for a seat on the three-member board of selectmen.

Ms. Rose is a former longtime member and chairman of the planning board. Ms. Wright is a former chairman of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah).

There are no other contests on the election ballot. Running unopposed are: library trustee, Jean Lince; planning board, Peter Temple and Jed Smith; board of health, Sarah Saltonstall; board of assessors, Michael Stutz; and town clerk, Carolyn Feltz.
