To the Editor:
I was saddened by the article about Thunder. His life was cut very short. Why? How did he die?
First of all, I had the sickly chance of seeing this poor, unkempt animal in the most deplorable conditions for any living being. His water was always filthy dirty, his pen was nothing but watered down mud everywhere, and his shelter was a dangled piece of plywood ready to fall any given time, offering no protection from the dangerous weather here on the Island.
Boars can live up to 15 to 20 years. I’m surprised with all the visitors coming in and out of that farm, that no one spoke up or said anything to help this poor sentient being. And just because he wasn’t useful any more, he had to go. What’s that about?
