The Steamship Authority has alerted Palmer Avenue parking lot permit holders that the second phase of the lot renovation project will take place over the next several months. Work is scheduled to start the week of October 21 and be complete by Memorial Day 2014, according to an email.
“The scope of work will divide up the Palmer Avenue lot into two zones that will be completed in two different timeframes,” Michael Young,
parking and transportation manager, said in an email to permit holders. “During these construction timeframes, we urge you to park your permitted vehicles within the newly renovated parking areas west and north of the new entrance area, as all vehicles will be cleared in the construction zones during the renovation phases.”
Improvements will include new drainage systems, area expansion, more efficient lighting, and repaving.
