The Makos began their fourth year of competitive swimming at the YMCA of Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday, October 26, with a fun, spirited league Relay Carnival. More than 100 swimmers filled the pool deck, and 100 spectators filled the lobby at the YMCA. Onlookers cheered swimmers of all ages and skill levels as they took to the starting blocks. Teams in attendance from the South Eastern MA Swim League included: Turbo, Mask, Nantucket, West, and the Island home team, Makos. There were a variety of competitions, including stroke specific relays, multi-age group relays, and Individual Medley (IM) Relays. For many swimmers, this was their first competitive meet ever.

The Makos are back in the water on November 10 in Eastham in a league dual meet against team Mask.

On November 17, the Makos welcome team West to compete in a league dual meet at the YMCA of Martha’s Vineyard. The meet begins at noon, and everyone from the community is welcome to come cheer on the Makos.
