The Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative (CVEC) will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 am on Tuesday, November 12, for Edgartown’s municipal solar array project at Katama Farm. The project has been in the works since 2011.
CVEC is a municipal energy cooperative founded in 2007 to help member towns, including Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Tisbury, and West Tisbury, to create new sustainable energy sources, enable them to own electricity-producing systems, and sell the energy.
American Capital Energy, Inc. is the solar developer and builder for the project. Clean Focus is financing the CVEC projects and will operate them.
