Featherstone Center for the Arts in Oak Bluffs will host its fifth annual Garden Party and Fashion Show on Saturday, May 10, at 2 pm. The event celebrates designer Lorraine Parish and her 35 years of fashion designing.

Directed by Marla Blakey for the third time, the fashion show features ensembles from Once in A Blue Moon, Bananas, Sun Dog, and Keren Tonnesen, and jewelry by Marie Allen, Ronni Simon, and Eleanor Stanwood. “In keeping with our 50 Plus and Fabulous theme, all models to grace the runway will be 50 and older,” wrote Featherstone staff in a press release.

Guest will enjoy lemonade and food by Truly Scrumptious and Cakes by Liz. The menu includes artisanal cheese plates, deviled eggs, mini skewers, and desserts. Adding to the artistic effort of the event, fiber artists Minor Knight and Veronica Modini will decorate the tables with colorful paper flower centerpieces.

Guests are encouraged to wear their finest hats and headgear to be eligible for “best” and “most creative” hat prizes and surprises. The Garden Party and Fashion Show also provides guests a sneak peak of The Art of Flowers Show with guest curator Holly Alaimo in the Virginia Weston Besse Gallery. Tickets are $40 per person.
