The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School boys lacrosse team lost to third-seeded Hanover, 14-3, Sunday in the MIAA State Division 3 South Sectional quarterfinals, but the 2014 season was a big success. The 11th-seeded Vineyarders, 4-15 last season, finished up 11-9 this season and earned their first tournament victory in four years on May 29 with a gutsy 9-7 win at sixth-seeded Old Rochester.

Sunday in Hanover, Vineyard senior Taymon Brown scored two goals, while fellow senior Sam Burke added a goal and an assist. As he did against Old Rochester, goalie Austin Fournier made 10 saves.
