Celtic Green wins Island Soccer League championship

The Island Soccer League held its mid-season round-robin tournament last Wednesday, with the League Cup at stake. Everything was up for grabs going into the final round when goals by Jack Holmes and Nick Cranston allowed Celtic (Green) to edge Arsenal (Gold) 2-1 for the championship.

Chelsea (Blue) claimed third place with a 1-0 win over league-leading and previously undefeated Liverpool (Red) thanks to Ty Mathew’s second-half goal.

In earlier action this month, Liverpool held on to first place in the adult league when Robe Della Torre scored late in the game to earn a 3-3 draw with Celtic, while Chelsea moved into second place in a romp over undermanned Arsenal.
