Rainy Goodale sets new record in breaststroke


Rainy Goodale, a Martha’s Vineyard Master and YMCA Makos swim team coach, swam at the New England and Colonies Zone Championship at Boston University on December 13 and 14. Over two days, she competed in five events: 200M breaststroke, 50M butterfly, 50M breaststroke, 100M individual medley, and 100M breaststroke. She placed first on all of her events in her 40-44 age group and placed second overall for her best events, the 200M,100M, and 50M breaststroke. She swam the 100M breaststroke in 1:19.73, breaking her own New England and Zone records time of 1:20.31, set in 2010. More than 300 Masters swimmers from New England, New York, New Jersey, Florida and as far as Colorado competed at the meet.
