Throughout the month of February, the Vineyard Haven library will be holding a “Food for Fines” food drive. During this time, library patrons may offset overdue fines by donating current canned goods or healthy nonperishable food items. Charges waived will go toward overdue fines only, and will not count against replacement charges for lost or damaged items. The food collected will be given to the Island Food Pantry for distribution to those in need in our community. The suggested donation is one food item for each $2 waived in fines.
