He’s her fiscal champ

To the Editor:

Go, Skip! This is in response to last week’s article about the increased salary and added benefits the All-Island School Committee (AISC) awarded to new superintendent Matt D’Andrea (March 5, “All-Island School Committee approves $165,000 superintendent contract”). It sounds like many parents and other members of our community back up Skip Manter’s motion to question these new costs. It’s interesting that Mr. Manter received no support from any other member from the AISC. The salaries paid out to top administrators seem super inflated when compared with what is spent on the ground level, where students need it most. We appreciate that Mr. Manter stood up for us, and we hope he continues to serve on the All-Island School Committee.
